A Famous Five Affair…

Who remembers these fantabulous Famous Five books by Enid Blyton? I grew up on these books…the oh-so-responsible Julian, the cheeky Dick, feminine Anne (who was always scared of everything, and prided herself on being able to cook), tomboyish Georgina (now that I think about it, she would probably be as close to a gender confused individual as you could safely write about back then!) and of course, the super-smart dog, Timmy. Ahhh…until now, I still have a whole collection of those books in my cabinet.
But the underlying reason to today’s ‘FIVE’ post is a tag by Paris – 5 questions I must answer on a Friday after receiving this tag. Since it’s Friday…’nuff said, so here are my answers.
1. To watch or participate?
Depends on the topic right? Certain things I’d prefer to watch (like Idol auditions!), and others I’d prefer to participate (did you ever have fun just WATCHING people getting freebies? Didn’t think so)
2. Malls, catalog shopping, or the Internet?
Errr…I’d have to echo Paris on this one and claim inability to choose! But if I really had to select just ONE, I’d maybe have to go with the Internet…who needs the problem of getting stuck in traffic jams, crowded parking lots, jostling people and long queues on the weekends? At least on the Internet, I can browse at several stores at once (all it takes is different browser windows – try attempting that at the mall!) Besides, I can also order stuff that isn’t available in Malaysia, which is just grand!
3. A bath or shower?
This is simple – no bathtub, so it’s a shower. That said, I always try to indulge whenever I manage to stay at a hotel with a bathtub…there’s nothing quite like sitting in a tub scented in essential oil with a few tealights for illumination…*zzzzzz* (and for this instance only, I’ll discount the environmental impact)
4. To talk to people by telephone, in person or by e-mail?
Right now, I’d have to say in person…there are just so many emotions and gestures that cannot be accurately conveyed through just your voice or typing out text (especially if you’re the kind that’s not text-eloquent). The only reason I resort to a phone call or email is simply due to the distance factor, which kind of sucks.
5. Typing or writing?
Typing’s heck of a lot faster, and definitely a lot neater! Only problem is, you can’t type EVERYTHING down – I still enjoy writing personal notes or cards…but as much as possible, I try to type.
I think I just proved the prerogative of a female – I couldn’t give just ONE answer. But seriously, given the kind of questions – could you? Let’s see…
Can’t wait to see your answers next Friday…*LOL* Have a good weekend!
