I cannot complain it was an uneventful weekend…

I'm back! And as the title suggests, I had a pretty hectic weekend, to say the least.

1. On the way to Johor, we had a run-by with a couple of monkeys running across the highway. One hit the car (or rather, we hit it) and RAN OFF. Dad’s car wasn’t so fortunate – the impact clobbered out his right front fog lamp AND grill, the latter of which landed on the road.

Suffice to say, we were stuck at the roadside while daddy dearest attempted to secure the lamp so that we could continue on. At these times, bet you he’s grateful he’s got two ladies in the car (my mum n I) that literally carry EVERYTHING in our bags – Pen knife? Wet wipes? Ribbon? Screwdriver? Semua pun ada.

2. It was during this time that we made the discovery and solved a puzzling mystery…

See those bony looking things? They’re actually bone chips – from the pork bones my mum boils for the dogs every evening. The blinking tree-shrews (similar to a squirrel) have been stealing the bits from my dogs and hiding them INSIDE my dad’s engine on a small ledge. No wonder the dogs have been taking such a vested interest in my dad’s car recently…even going to great lengths to ‘pluck’ out the vents (didn’t damage it, just pulled them out one by one and left them to one side – although dad was probably ready to slaughter them when he found out!)

3. Okay, so this next one may look a little more mundane compared to the first two, but it’s momentous to us anyhow. My maternal grandma celebrated her 86th birthday…and doesn’t look her age AT ALL.

- with her absolutely SINFUL dark chocolate cake -

- obligatory photo with six of her 9 grandchildren (missing the ones from Australia that couldn’t make it back) -

Gee…I wonder if I’ll ever get that far…but the big grin on her face made the loooong trip to JB worth it.

4. Attended Joanne’s ‘open house’ on Sat night and ended up meeting some people I hadn’t seen in years. Just shows how small the world is. A person I’d worked with briefly turned out to be her primary school mate! *tsk tsk*

Anyway, somehow THIS came about…

It was promptly dubbed the ‘see fut’ orange, or ‘backside’ orange…because the cleft looks like an a**. It’s use during the evening? As a weight to hold down the bankers’ money during our Blackjack games…maybe that’s why they kept losing…

5. My dad read my post on my missing Patchi chocolates (see here for details). Lemme tell you, this is one of the times I’m SOOO glad my dad reads my blog…heehee…lookie what he bought for moi from duty-free on his way back from India…

It’s mine, all mine, I tell ya! (okay, so mum gets to share too…but still!)

How was your weekend? :D

kimberlycun: OMG..that's quite dangerous!! the bones were just lying on a ledge - plenty of attention from the dogs, but at least the car was otherwise fully functional..
