My Top Five Fragrance Faves...

I, for one, am a real goner over fragrances (okay, okay!! AND bags, AND shoes, AND accessories...). Mind you, there are certain preferences when choosing my fragrances…nothing too musky or overpoweringly flowery. I prefer those with a light citrus-ey tang, but ultimately it depends on how it smells like after being applied. There have been times where I’ve loved a scent, only to border on hurling when its sprayed on (blame body chemistry or something).

1. Christian Dior – Dior Addict II

I am a total addict over this fragrance, and its clever locking mechanism is also fun to fiddle with. They have limited stocks of the 100ml bottle, but I managed to score myself one from the Duty Free shop during a recent trip. Somehow, Dior Addict I failed to have the same effect, but this one is really nice. A close second would be their ‘Dior Me’ fragrance.

2. Lancôme – Ôui

I’ve been a firm favourite of this fragrance since my college days (basically since the time I could actually BARELY AFFORD to indulge myself) Thanks to mum being a long-time Lancôme user, I’ve managed to score myself small samples of it over the years. Loving the mild citrus undertones in this one.

3. The Body Shop – Limited Edition Crisp Cotton

Okay, so this is a perfume oil rather than a eau de toilette or eau de parfum, but the impact’s still pretty cool. Imagine one of those TV commercials where they claim X brand of fabric softener can give you the ‘country clean’ scent as if you had dried your laundry in a farm with mountains in the background? This is the wearable version of that scent…teeheehee…how’s that for a description? Best part: It wears off into a scent similar to that of a light baby powder.

4. Nina Ricci – Les Belles

The lady who sold this to me told me it smelt like tomatoes. No offense, but the humble tomato never smelt this good. It’s pretty unique since Nina Ricci has since come up with several varieties of the same range, but with different undertones. Can’t stand the floral one though…kind of reminds me of Anna Sui’s fragrance that had an ‘A&W root beer’ scent to it – that’s just so wrong.

5. Elizabeth Arden – Green Tea

Maccha to wear, anyone? Just like Les Belles, green tea never smelt like this! You do get a hint of the green tea scent initially, but it eventually tones down to a slightly woodsy smell.

I’m really curious as to see the choices of the following people: tine, u.t.t.e.r.l.y.b.u.t.t.e.r.f.l.y.z., jackish and gohmh. Get to it, guys!
